ABS Sensor Video
The ABS sensor, also known as a wheel speed sensor, is part of your vehicle’s anti-lock braking system. It is located near the wheel hub and monitors the speed of each wheel.
This sensor works with the vehicle’s control module to help prevent the wheels from locking up during braking. If the ABS sensor is not working properly, the system may not function as intended.
Common signs of a faulty ABS sensor can include an illuminated ABS warning light or changes in how your brakes feel during operation. These symptoms can have more than one cause, so proper testing is important.
At Maxcare Auto Centers in Chicago, IL, we can help diagnose ABS-related concerns. We may begin with an inspection as part of our auto diagnostics service and evaluate related components within the brake repair system.
Because the anti-lock braking system plays an important role in vehicle control during braking, it’s best to have any warning lights or concerns checked as soon as possible.
If your ABS system needs to be inspected, call 773-666-0085 today.
